Tools for better care
Organise what you want to discuss with your care team. Complete the three sections and take one summary with you.
Entries stay only in this open page and are lost when you close or reload it. They are not sent to the practice. Download the summary to keep it.
Compare two tests
Use percent predicted for both measurements. Do not enter litres or mL. Check comparability and, for DLCO, whether the same haemoglobin correction was used.
Results appear when you complete a pair of values.
Example: 80% → 72% is −8 percentage points and −10% relative change. This is an arithmetic comparison; its significance requires clinical assessment alongside symptoms, HRCT and test quality.
What does each test measure?
FVC: Air volume forcibly exhaled after a full inhalation. Percent predicted is not the percentage of lung remaining.
DLCO: A measure of gas transfer. Interpretation considers haemoglobin, test quality and other conditions.
HRCT: High-resolution CT showing structural changes. It does not measure the same thing as spirometry.
6MWT: Six-minute walk test. Distance, symptoms, oxygen saturation and oxygen conditions are assessed together.

Sudden severe breathlessness, chest pain, confusion or blue lips need urgent medical assessment. Do not wait for a tool result; in an emergency call 112.
